During the 2011 Imperial Session – held in Denver July 3-7, Jack H. Jones of St. Petersburg, Fla., was re-elected as Imperial Recorder of Shriners International, a role he held for 30 years before his election as Imperial Potentate (president and CEO of Shriners International) in 2009-10. As Imperial Recorder, he serves on the Board of Directors for the fraternity and Shriners Hospitals for Children®. This past December, Jones also took on the responsibility of serving as Executive Vice President of Shriners International.
While serving in the United States Air Force, Jones attended the University of Southern Mississippi and the University of Tampa where he majored in business administration.
Jones is a recipient of several Grand Lodge awards: the Benjamin Franklin Medal from the Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania; the Henry Price Medal from the Grand Lodge of Massachusetts, and the Andrew Jackson Medal from the Grand Lodge of Tennessee. He is an emeritus member of the DeMolay International Supreme Council and a recipient of the DeMolay Grand Cross and DeMolay Legion of Honor. He was elected honorary Grand Master of DeMolay International in 2009. In 2006, he was presented the Imperial Potentate’s Award of Merit, which is the highest honor in the Shriners fraternity. He is the recipient of the Knights Templar Grand Cross. He is a 33rd degree Scottish Rite Mason and a recepient of the Grand Cross of Honor.
His Masonic affiliations include Egypt Shriners, Hillsborough Lodge #25, F.& A.M., Tampa York Rite, Tampa Scottish Rite, Red Cross of Constantine, Order of Quetzalcoatl, Royal Order of Jesters and National Sojourners.
Jones has two sons, Steve and Brian and four grandchildren, Jared, Jessie, Valerie and Ryan and great-grandson Owen.
