Wayne Lachut of Amherst, N.Y., is currently serving his fourth year as a member of the Boards of Directors for Shriners International and Shriners Hospitals for Children®. He was elected Imperial Second Ceremonial Master, part of the 13-member body that helps govern the Shriners fraternity, during the Shriners’ 2013 Imperial Session – held in Indianapolis June 30-July 4.
Lachut was raised a Master Mason at Livingstone Lodge #255 in Colden, N.Y. He is also a member of both the Scottish Rite and York Rite. Lachut became a member of Ismailia Shriners in Buffalo, N.Y., in 1981 and served as the temple’s Potentate in 2000. Lachut is a past Chairman of the Board of Governors of Shriners Hospitals for Children — Erie and is currently serving as an emeritus member. He was also president of the New York Ontario Shrine Association from 2005-2006.
Lachut is a lifelong resident of the Buffalo, N.Y., area. Currently, he is a broker/owner with McMahon Insurance Agency, a member of the EMS Group. He is also a managing partner of Highland Plaza Management Inc., a holding company for commercial and residential property.
Lachut enjoys golf, spending time at his cottage and collecting antiques. He and his wife, Janet, have two sons who are active Shriners.
