Peter Diaz, M.D., of Orlando, Fla., is currently serving his first three-year term on the Shriners Hospitals for Children® Board of Trustees. He was elected during the Shriners’ 2011 Imperial Session – held in Denver July 3-7.
Diaz received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Madrid and went to medical school at University of Santiago in Spain. He completed his residency at the Orlando Regional Health Center.
Diaz was a member of Mokanna Lodge #329 F & AM in Orlando and the Royal Order of Jesters Court #166. Since 2002, he has been a member of Bahia Shriners and has been involved with the temple in many different capacities. Diaz is the Divan physician, translator for the paper crusade magazine and Director of the Antique Car Show.
Diaz managed his own OBGYN practice for 33 years and has served as the Medical Director and Board Member for Humana Hospital Lucerne in Orlando. He was also the Chairman of the OBGYN department at the Humana Hospital Lucerne and a member of the American Medical Association. In addition, Diaz is a professor of laparoscopic surgery and has taught the procedure in the U.S., Central America and South America.
Diaz is an energetic and dedicated Shriner with a strong desire to utilize his medical experience to benefit Shriners Hospitals for Children®. He and his wife, Vicki, have five children together – Marie, Peter, Cristina, Carolina and Lindsey.
