Plan Your Visit
[Canada]
We realize your presence during your child’s stay at the hospital is very reassuring, so we encourage one parent/guardian to stay at your child’s bedside. During your stay, we provide sleeping accommodations, shower facilities and laundry for the parent staying.
For other family members who would like to stay close to the hospital during your child’s stay, your care coordinator can answer any questions you may have about housing in the area surrounding Shriners Hospitals for Children® — Canada.
Parents Lounge
Parents may visit the parents lounge, located on the second floor of the hospital, to have a moment to relax or to consult educational books or videos.
Family Resource Library
A family resource library is located in the hospital's clinic waiting area. The librarian can guide families to the information they need at every point in their child’s care. Patients and their families can borrow library materials. The collection includes books and pamphlets addressing a variety of information needs. We have resources for patients, as well as for their parents, siblings and other family members. We offer documentation related to specific conditions and treatments, and information on more general topics such as self-esteem, nutrition, family life and discipline. We also cover community and other services.
Dining Room
Our dining room serves breakfast, lunch and dinner every day and is open to our patients and families. Our mutrition services team seeks to provide healthful, nutritional meals. Snacks, beverages, sandwiches, salads and desserts are available throughout the day at reasonable prices.
