(CINCINNATI) As part of the hospital's 45th anniversary celebrations, Shriners Hospitals for Children® — Cincinnati will host a grand opening and dedication of the new, expanded Family Care Unit on Sunday, September 15. The event will take place at the hospital at 3229 Burnet Ave., from 2 to 4 p.m.
Cincinnati Shriners Hospital patient ambassadors and volunteers will conduct tours of the new unit, and there will be refreshments.
The unit was funded by a $5 million gift from an anonymous Cincinnati family in 2009. This generous gift enabled the hospital to move forward with construction and expansion, as well as creating an endowment for future use.
The new 18-room unit offers families all of the comforts of home at the hospital. Families can stay in-house, near their child, and have access to laundry facilities, exercise room and a shared family area.
Parking for the event is available in the hospital’s parking garage.
Media is invited to attend the dedication, ribbon-cutting and grand opening at the hospital, beginning at 1:45 p.m. to set up. Please contact Glenda Jordan at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 513-872-6391 to arrange access.
