Shriners for Children Medical Center, previously known as Shriners Hospitals for Children — Los Angeles, is a specialty Medical Center providing comprehensive medical, surgical and rehabilitative care to children up to age 18 with orthopaedic conditions, burn scars, and cleft lip and palate. Patients receive all services in a family-centered environment, regardless of the families' ability to pay.
In 2017, Shriners Hospitals for Children — Los Angeles transitioned to Shriners for Children Medical Center, where we operate as an ambulatory surgery center. Although we have moved, our mission is still dedicated to meeting the needs of as many patients and families as possible who can benefit from the specialized services we provide. While our facility operates on an outpatient basis to serve more patients, we still offer surgeries and procedures requiring an overnight admission, at our partner hospital. Our partner facility is Huntington Hospital in Pasadena, California. Our Shriners for Children Medical Center physicians perform these procedures and provide all pre-surgical and follow-up care.
Our family-centered approach to care is designed to support the entire family during all phases of a child’s care.
Founded in 1952, we treat children from all over the country and around the world, and have unique relationships with top hospitals and universities. In 2017 Shriners Hospitals for Children — Los Angeles moved to our new home in Pasadena.

With 22 hospitals in the U.S., Canada and Mexico, Shriners Hospitals for Children is one of the world’s largest pediatric subspecialty health care systems. We provide expert specialty care to hundreds of thousands of kids every year. In our 90-plus year history, we have given help and hope to nearly 1 million children.
Shriners for Children Medical Center, like the other U.S. based hospitals in the Shriners Hospitals for Children health care system, reaffirms its commitment to excellence of care through the development of its Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA). The CHNA is a requirement for tax-exempt hospitals to engage their servicing community every three years and assess their health needs. Based on the findings, we have developed an action plan to work alongside community stakeholders to address the health needs of the community.
