Philip Alburger, M.D.

Philip Alburger, M.D., orthopaedic surgeon at Shriners Hospitals for Children — Philadelphia, received his undergraduate degree from St. Joseph’s College and then earned his medical degree from the Temple School of Medicine. Dr. Alburger completed an internship at Abington Memorial Hospital and completed two orthopaedic residencies at Temple University Health Science Center and Shriners Hospitals for Children — Philadelphia.

Areas of special interest of Dr. Alburger includes lower extremity pediatric orthopaedics, congenital abnormalities, clubfoot, dislocated hip, slipped capital femoral epiphysis and cerebral palsy.

Dr. Alburger is a diplomat of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, fellow of the American Colleges of Surgeons, member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery, Eastern Orthopaedic Association, and Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America. He holds the title of professor emeritus, orthopaedic surgery, at Temple University School of Medicine. He is also known for his research in pediatric orthopaedics and sports medicine. In addition, Dr. Alburger is the director of the Philadelphia Shriners Hospital movement analysis laboratory.
