Pravin A. Taneja, M.D., is the chief of anesthesia at the Shriners Hospitals for Children — Philadelphia and is board certified by the American Society of Anesthesiology. He is also board certified in pediatric anesthesiology subspecialty. He received an undergraduate degree in biology from Bombay University, India and earned a medical degree from Amravati University in India. Dr. Taneja completed his residency in anesthesiology at Temple University, Philadelphia and completed his fellowship from University of Pittsburgh, Pa. Dr. Taneja also earned his MBA in healthcare and biotechnology from the Pennsylvania State University.
Areas of special interest to Dr. Taneja include simulation, regional anesthesia and acute pain management. He is also extensively involved in graduate medical education of fellows, residents, medical students and other trainees.
Dr. Taneja is the current director of the pediatric anesthesia fellowship program at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children (SCHC), Philadelphia, Pa. He is also an assistant professor of anesthesiology and pediatrics at the Drexel University College of Medicine.
Dr. Taneja is a current member of the Society of Pediatric Anesthesia (SPA). He is also an active member of Society of Academic Anesthesiology Associations (SAAA) and the Association of Anesthesiology Subspecialty Program Directors (AASPD).
