Whether working directly with patients, in an office setting or at events, volunteers support the Salt Lake City Shriners Hospital in its mission to provide the highest quality of care to children with orthopaedic conditions. 

As a volunteer at Shriners Hospitals for Children — Salt Lake City, you will discover a wealth of benefits, including:


Individuals 16 years of age and older may apply to become a hospital volunteer, which includes a commitment to serve 75 hours (50 for students). The volunteer services department reviews all applications to match skills and availability with hospital needs. Applicants are required to take a two-part TB test and get a flu shot, both of which are covered by the hospital. Vaccination records are required to show proof of immunization against mumps and pertussis (MMR and TDAP) and chicken pox. The screening process also includes a background check and drug test.
