Pediatric Orthotic and Prosthetic Services (POPS) – Northeast, LLC, at the Springfield Shriners Hospital specializes in custom fabrication of artificial limbs and braces for children, adolescents and young adults. The Springfield Shriners Hospital has more than a 90-year history of creating custom designed orthotic and prosthetic devices for our patients with mobility issues and limb deficiencies.
Using advanced technology, including computer assisted design (CAD) and manufacturing software, our team of American board certified orthotists and prosthetists fabricate custom devices in our on-site laboratory. The POPS team is directly involved with patient care management working closely with the child and their family to support the lifestyle and medical needs of the child. The orthotists and prosthetists work collaboratively with the rehabilitation and motion analysis center team to put the child front and center, encouraging independence and participation in school, sports and play. The POPS practitioners and technicians fit upper and lower limb prostheses and orthoses with an emphasis on exceptional fit, comfort and appearance to improve function and mobility.
