Patricia Dougherty, RN, MSN, MBA, CNOR

Patricia Dougherty, RN, MSN, MBA, CNOR

Patricia Dougherty is the infection control coordinator at Shriners Hospitals for Children — Boston. She transitioned to this role in September of 2019 after serving as the nurse manager of perioperative services. As the infection control coordinator, Patricia is responsible for monitoring and tracking all infections in the hospital involving both patients and staff. She has over 15 years of management experience in perioperative services.

Patricia has a strong record of nursing leadership, holding nurse director positions at several hospitals in California before relocating to Massachusetts. Her experience in Massachusetts includes nurse director positions at North Shore Medical Center in Salem, Massachusetts, and Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, Massachusetts. Patricia’s background also includes perioperative education, with her most recently held position of clinical practice specialist at Beverly Hospital in Beverly, Massachusetts.

Patricia began her education with a diploma in nursing from the Toledo Hospital School of Nursing in Ohio. She then received a Bachelor of Science in nursing from the University of Phoenix in Arizona. She went on to earn a dual master’s degree in nursing and business administration–healthcare management, also from the University of Phoenix.

Patricia's certifications include Certified Nurse Operating Room, Performance Improvement Leadership Certification, Surgical Services Management Certification and Basic Cardiac Life Support. Her professional affiliations include Association of PeriOperative Registered Nurses and American Society of PostAnesthesia Nurses. Patricia’s professional interests include patient and staff satisfaction, along with perioperative quality and efficiency.
