Mark Niederpruem, FACHE

Mark Niederpruem, FACHE

For more than 25 years, Mark Niederpruem has proudly been a part of the Shriners Hospitals for Children health care system. Mr. Niederpruem is the administrator at Shriners Hospitals for Children — Chicago, a role he has held since 2012. Mark has helped lead the pediatric specialty care hospital through a period of rapid change across the health care industry. The Chicago Shriners Hospital has been recognized within the Shriners Hospitals system as a top performing hospital in recent years, and was recognized by the Chicago Tribune as a Top Work Place in 2018 as voted on by its employees.

Prior to his position in Chicago, Niederpruem served as administrator of Shriners Hospitals for Children in Springfield, Massachusetts, from 1993 to 2011. At the Springfield, Massachusetts, Shriners Hospital, he was instrumental in initiating new services and adopting technology to improve the quality of patient care, and sought to improve care in underserved areas. Niederpruem served on multiple national task forces, influencing the improvement of services for the health care system.

Prior experience includes management positions at the former Children’s Hospital of Buffalo, New York.

Niederpruem holds a master’s degree in public administration, and is a fellow of the American College of Health Care Executives. He is also past president of the Rotary Club in Springfield, Massachusetts. Niederpruem also appeared as an actor in a 2018 movie version of Little Women, which was directed by his daughter.
