Theresa Martinez, RN, MSN, BSN, CCRN-K

Theresa Martinez, RN, MSN, BSN, CCRN-K, is the director of patient care services and nurse executive. Theresa’s commitment to nursing excellence and her wealth of clinical experience is a strong addition to the Chicago Shriners Hospital team. “As a pediatric nurse for more than 20 years, I’ve seen firsthand the positive impact a nurse can have in a patient’s life,” Martinez said.

She began her nursing career in the late 1990s, serving in a variety of progressive nursing roles throughout the Chicagoland area, including as a legal nurse consultant, clinical educator, staff nurse, adjunct faculty member, clinical practice partner and coordinator, pediatric intensive care nurse, neonatal/pediatric transport and pediatric surgical heart nurse.

Theresa most recently served as the nursing manager in the neonatal intensive care unit and as the interim manager of Women’s Health at Loyola University Health System in Chicago. Her previous experience includes Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital where she was manager, patient care operations, pediatric intensive care unit (PICU). Martinez has also worked at Advocate Hope Children’s Hospital as manager, clinical operations, PICU and neonatal/pediatric transport team.
