Five snack ideas for kids during coronavirus outbreak

Five snack ideas for kids during coronavirus outbreak

In this time of COVID-19, many parents are looking for ideas to help their children eat healthier during the days at home together. Here are five healthy snack ideas during the coronavirus outbreak, provided by Pamela Patt, MS, RDN, CSP, LDN, CSNC, clinical dietitian at Shriners Hospitals for Children — Chicago

  1. Consider homemade pudding or buy the packets and make pudding for your children. It is a healthier snack than candy, and pudding is sweet.
  2. Make homemade trail mix, adding dried raisins or craisins, or portion out individual packages of nuts.
  3. Buy kale and make homemade kale chips.
  4. Make homemade salsa and make tortilla chips, or buy your own.
  5. Make homemade oatmeal raisin cookies for your kids. That’s a project to do with your child and it is a healthier snack.
