Mary M. O'Gara, MA, CCC-SLP, is a new Fellow of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). She is the first ASHA Fellow in the Shriners Hospitals for Children system.

“Fellowship is one of the highest forms of recognition given by ASHA of an individual’s accomplishments and is public declaration of your outstanding professional achievements,” said Brian B. Shulman, Ph.D., CCC-SLP, ASHA Fellow, Chair of the ASHA Committee on Honors, in the award notification letter.

O’Gara received her award in November at the ASHA Convention in Orlando, FL.

She also serves as a graduate instructor in the Northwestern University Speech Language Pathology master’s program, teaching about craniofacial anomalies, including cleft palate.
