Patient takes amazing drone footage of hospital

Jayna, a patient in our spine service department, had a long hospital stay and she wanted to use the drone she got for Christmas. On nicer days during the winter months she was able to head to the Chicago Shriners Hospital backyard and take some aerial shots. We are so happy to share some of her drone footage of the Chicago Shriners Hospital.

In addition, Jayna made a special connection with a surgeon who also loves drones. Our Harvard-educated plastic surgeon Clark Schierle, M.D., Ph.D., is also an FAA-licensed drone operator. The two talked about the best ways to pilot drones and looked at some examples online during a break in Jayna's inpatient rehabilitation visit.
