Temporary flu season visitor restrictions

Help us Duck the Flu

Temporary flu season visitor restrictions

Please note our temporary visitor restrictions, effective February 2, 2019, for the safety and well-being of our patients, staff and visitors.

  • Visitors and volunteers under the age of 18 are not permitted to visit inpatients in the hospital.
  • Only patients and children seeking evaluation and treatment should be brought to the hospital.
  • When not in a patient room, we ask patients and visitors to stay in the clinic lobby, Mall or cafeteria areas of the hospital.
  • All tours, school groups and special events are canceled during this time.

All visitors should be healthy. Please do not visit if you have a fever greater than 100 degrees and a sore throat or cough. People who have been recently ill with the above symptoms should not visit unless they have been symptom-free for 24 hours. If someone in your household is sick with the above symptoms, watch for signs of illness. If you become sick, please leave promptly.

Here are a few tips to stay healthy:

  • Perform hand hygiene frequently by either washing with soap and water or rubbing your hands together with an alcohol based hand sanitizer.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
  • Cover your cough and sneezes – use Kleenex, dispose of properly and clean your hands after handling it. If you do not have a Kleenex, use the bend of your arm to cough into.
