Anthony M. West of Northport, Alabama, is currently serving his second three-year term on the Shriners Hospitals for Children® Board of Trustees. He was elected during the Shriners’ 2016 Imperial Session held in Tampa, Florida, July 3 – July 7.
West was raised a Master Mason at J. Collier Foster Lodge #906 and is a member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Birmingham, Alabama. West became a member of Zamora Shriners in Irondale, Alabama, in 1982 and served as the temple’s Potentate in 2000. West has held several leadership positions with Zamora Shriners and the Shriners fraternity, including serving as president of the Dixie Shrine Association in 2004–2005. West has served as a member of the Shriners Hospitals for Children — Mexico Board of Governors since 2006 and has been Chairman since 2010. In addition to his involvement with Shriners International, West is a member of the Royal Order of the Jesters and Order of Quetzalcoatl.
A past member of the Alabama Road Builders Association, West is the owner and president of West Contracting Inc., a company he started in 1977. From 1994 to 2012, he was president and owner of West Alabama Equipment Inc.
West’s commitment to the Shriners fraternity is supported by his wife, Maria, and two sons, Jason and Brandon, who are also members of Zamora Shriners. West also enjoys spending time with his five grandchildren, Austin, Alexis, Ryan, Mia and Allie.
