Food services

The registered dietitian (RDN) provides nutritional assessment and a plan of care, including counseling, to patients and caregivers with continued follow up in the outpatient clinic. Our children may need specialized diets, vitamin/mineral supplementation, nutrient rich snacks, as well as nutrition counseling to maintain a healthy weight and energy balance.

Our inpatients can choose their meals from the room service menu or from the selections in the dining room. Families, staff and guests can dine in the dining room or enjoy the lush garden in the lanai area. Meals are available for patients and families on the weekend. We have a food service staff of many talents who use their creative abilities to provide exciting encounters with food. Many are surprised by the healthy and varied selections provided by the salad bar and hot line including beef brisket, baked salmon, calamari steak with capers, fresh salads, kale smoothies and scrumptious desserts.

The food service staff works with recreation therapy and other departments to create awesome experiences with the food presentation in the various events such as Halloween, Christmas, May Day, special meetings, etc.

Dining room schedule

Monday – Friday

Breakfast 7 a.m. – 10 a.m.
Lunch 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Dinner 3:30 p.m. – 5:45 p.m.

Weekends and holidays

Breakfast 7 a.m. – 10 a.m.
Lunch/Dinner 11 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Dining services only accept cash. Vending machines are available 24 hours per day.
