Admission to Shriners Hospitals for Children — Northern California is just a phone call away. Any child under 18 is eligible for care if the child’s condition is within the scope of services provided. As a regional pediatric medical center, the Northern California Shriners Hospital serves children throughout the western United States, northwestern Mexico and Canada.
To refer a patient to Shriners Hospitals for Children — Northern California, contact a referral coordinator and you will be guided through the admission process or complete the Patient Referral Form and fax to our referral center.
Children with severe burns and other emergent needs are admitted through a physician-to-physican referral. The referring physician should contact the physician-on-call by calling 916-453-2111.
Shriners Hospitals for Children — Northern California provides 24-hour intensive care and 24-hour physician coverage.
Patients are routinely transferred, transported and admitted to Shriners Hospitals for Children — Northern California’s pediatric intensive care unit or to our hospital units directly from hospitals or physician’s offices.
Our registered nurse supervisor and the attending physician will coordinate with you to facilitate the urgent transfer of your patient to Shriners Hospital.
