At Shriners Hospitals for Children — Philadelphia, care extends far beyond the hospital walls. The rehabilitation and recreational therapy department at the Philadelphia Shriners Hospital believes that recreation and leisure should be an important part of everyone’s life without exception. They collaborate with a number of community organizations to introduce patients to the wide range of recreation possibilities and assist patients in discovering their passions leading to a life full of fun.
During your visit to the Philadelphia Shriners Hospital you may see therapy dogs, musicians, magicians, area sports teams, clowns, picnics or holiday-themed parties. Activities and classes are provided free-of-charge to patients and families. In addition to special events offered throughout the week, we offer other engaging activities.
From art projects and cooking, to adaptive biking, tennis or rock climbing, our recreation therapy department can provide you a list of upcoming workshops available to patients, to get your child involved and learn new skills. Most events require an RSVP and some may have age requirements.
