Volunteer placement is based on the needs of our hospital, the kind of work you wish to do and the times you are available. We work hard to match your interests and talents with the needs of the hospital so that you will have a meaningful volunteer experience.
If you would like to apply to become a volunteer, download the Volunteer Application. You may submit your application in the following manner:
If an appropriate volunteer position is available, you will be contacted for an interview and hospital tour. If no appropriate openings are available when your application is received, we will keep your application on file for three months, if requested.
For more information about volunteer opportunities at the hospital, contact Maria Bataclan in the volunteer department via email or at 813-975-7159.
Shriners Hospitals for Children allows outside visiting groups to volunteer with patients in the outpatient clinic waiting area. We can take groups with up to five volunteers. You will be required to provide a structured activity (arts and crafts) for the patients and siblings. You may have as few as one child participate or up to 10, so please plan accordingly.
Our patients embody a wide variety of cultural, ethnic and religious backgrounds. We ask that you keep this in mind when planning your program and ask that no religious doctrines be promoted during your visit.
If your group would be interested please contact Tara Paustian via email or call 813-972-2250 ext. 7326 to check for availability.
