What insurance do you accept?

Shriners Hospitals for Children — Erie accepts many types of insurance and is a participating provider with Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield, UPMC, AmeriHealth Caritas and Pennsylvania Medicaid. We work with all families regardless of their insurance or ability to pay. For more information, or if you have additional questions, please call 814-875-8866.

What should I bring to our appointment?

Please remember to bring to appointments:

  • You child’s insurance ID card
  • A list of current medications your child is taking
  • X-rays
  • Your child’s primary care provider’s name, address, phone and fax number

Can I donate items or toys for children at Shriners Hospitals for Children — Erie?

Unfortunately, we cannot accept:

  • Used toys
  • Used car seats
  • Used clothes
  • Toiletries (soaps, lotions, toothpaste, etc.)
  • Any items that contain rubber or latex

Can I donate money or finances to your medical center?

You may donate securely and conveniently online. Please designate Shriners Hospitals for Children — Erie, or applicable location, when making an online donation.

What criteria determine a child’s eligibility for care at Shriners Hospitals for Children?

Children up to age 18 are eligible for care at Shriners Hospitals for Children, if there is a reasonable possibility they can benefit from the specialized services available. Acceptance is based solely on a child’s medical needs.
