Therapists at Shriners Hospitals for Children — Galveston carefully select and distribute games and toys to our patients year round. You and your group can help by adhering to the following recommendations for toy selection:

  • Please, no used items. Due to infection control regulations, we ask that you donate only new toys, games and stuffed animals. Safety is the most important consideration when accepting toys.
  • Games and books that depict violence, as well as toy guns and projectile toys, are not accepted.
  • Please contact us prior to donating candy and food.
  • Because some of our patients are sensitive to natural rubber latex, please buy only specific name brands whenever possible. We do not accept the following latex items: rubber balloons, Koosh balls, rubber stamps, rubber balls, rubber erasers, etc. Mylar balloons and vinyl items are encouraged.
