Keith Gettys, M.D.

Keith Gettys, M.D., is a pediatric orthopaedic surgeon and the recipient of numerous academic awards and honors – including the T. Boone Pickens Award for Orthopaedics for clubfoot research. Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Dr. Gettys has a special interest in hip preservation surgery for adolescents and young adults to prevent the onset of arthritis. He also specializes in conditions of the spine and feet in children and adolescents, as well as injury care. 

Dr. Getty’s extensive training includes a one-year research fellowship at Carolinas Medical Center where he worked to understand the healing process for large bone defects. Dr. Gettys is also the co-author of an intensive study regarding the validity of orthopaedic information available on the internet. Following his time in Charlotte, Dr. Gettys secured a position in the esteemed fellowship program at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital. While in Dallas, two of the leading hip preservation surgeons in the country mentored Dr. Gettys.

An accomplished former competitive swimmer at Virginia Tech University, Dr. Gettys is a dog-lover and enjoys spending time with his wife, daughter and son.
