Injury clinic

Our pediatric orthopaedic surgeons at Shriners Hospitals for Children — Honolulu realize there is a need to help kids with urgent playground and sports injuries. It is one of the few places on Oahu where you can see a pediatric orthopaedic surgeon the same day.

Shriners Hospitals for Children — Honolulu has always offered the highest quality specialty care. The outpatient department dedicates the first half of each morning to the patients with orthopaedic injuries. Patients will receive care, which may include reduction, re-alignment, surgery, casting, post-fracture follow up and rehabilitative care if needed.

It is easy for both referring physicians and families to visit our injury clinic. Simply visit our clinic at 1310 Punahou Street on Oahu as a walk-in, Monday–Friday between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. A pediatric orthopaedic specialist will examine your child. No appointment is necessary. If you walk-in after noon, you will be seen the following weekday morning.

“Children are not small adults; their bones heal faster than adults. This means that a child with an injury should see an experienced pediatric orthopaedic specialist as soon as possible,” said Craig M. Ono, M.D., chief of staff, pediatric orthopaedic surgeon at the Honolulu Shriners Hospital.

The Honolulu Shriners Hospital knows providers often see injuries under urgent circumstances and do not have time to research specialty care options or make phone calls to set up appointments. The injury clinic provides a reliable solution for busy providers and families. For more information please call 808-941-4466.
