Harlan Klein, M.D.

Harlan P. Klein, M.D., joined Shriners Hospitals for Children — Honolulu as a pediatric anesthesiologist in 2005, and has served as chief of anesthesiology since 2007. He previously served as member of the Anesthesia Medical Group, Inc. from 2003 to 2005.

He received a Bachelor of Science degree in zoology from the University of Hawaii and his medical degree from Hahnemann University School of Medicine in Philadelphia. His post graduate work included a general surgery internship at the John A. Burns School of Medicine, University of Hawaii; an anesthesiology residency at Oregon Health and Science University in Portland, Oregon; and a pediatric anesthesia fellowship at Doernbecher Children’s Hospital, also in Portland.

Dr. Klein is a triathlete and even has a self-modified stationary bike which he pedals at his desk. He’s also a former stand-up comedian and uses his talents for entertaining the Shriners Hospital staff and his four children.
