Mike Nishimoto, APRN

Mike Nishimoto, APRN-Rx, is a nurse practitioner in the orthopaedic and neurodevelopmental clinics at Shriners Hospitals for Children — Honolulu. He is an Iolani School graduate and has a bachelor’s of business degree in finance from Santa Clara University. He subsequently received a master’s degree in nursing from the University of California at San Francisco (UCSF) as an advanced practice pediatric nurse practitioner with a minor in adolescent medicine. Besides his APRN, Mike is certified with the Association of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nurses (APHON).

Previously, Mike worked for five years at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital as a pediatric registered nurse in their pediatric oncology/hematology and bone marrow transplant unit and one year at Kiwi Pediatrics in Berkeley, California, as a pediatric nurse practitioner in the pediatric oncology unit. He also has multiple years of experience as a pediatric nurse practitioner in pediatric primary care, having established his own teen clinic at Kiwi Pediatrics.

Mike has a passion for helping children with special needs and finds inspiration through the strength and resilience of his patients.

Mike and his wife, Julie, have a son, Jordan, and a labrador retriever named Shaka. He is an avid Green Bay Packers fan and his hobbies include golf, fishing and reading.
