Rehabilitation services

Rehabilitation services

Whether recovering from bone and joint surgery or a sports injury, or learning to adjust to movement or communication disorders and developmental delays, rehabilitation helps children improve their level of function to optimize their independence and the quality of their lives.

Our rehabilitation team includes physical and occupational therapists. Each patient’s program is designed to address the child’s individual needs and developmental abilities. Family involvement is important and highly encouraged.

Physical therapy services may include:

  • Instruction in appropriate exercises to increase strength and joint motion
  • Education to improve mobility, including walking, transfers, balance and endurance

Occupational therapy helps a child regain and build skills that are important to functioning independently and may include:

  • Daily activities of living, such as dressing, bathing, eating and educational skills
  • Fabrication of a brace or pressure garment
  • Training in the use of an assistive device

Our facility offers diverse gym equipment, therapeutic modalities and specialty assessments for custom wheelchairs.
