Alfred Mansour, M.D.

Alfred Mansour, M.D., leads the pediatric sports medicine program at Shriners Hospitals for Children — Houston.  Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, Dr. Mansour completed dual fellowships in both orthopaedic sports medicine and pediatric orthopaedic surgery with an emphasis on the full spectrum of sports medicine and hip preservation. His combined training experiences have shaped his subspecialized expertise and approach to both sports medicine and hip preservation in children.

He specializes in fractures and growth plate injuries of the extremities, patellar instability, osteochondritis dissecans (OCD), ACL ruptures, and cartilage injuries of the elbow, hip, knee and ankle. He is also one of only a handful of surgeons nationally who employs both arthroscopic and open surgical techniques (including periacetabular osteotomy) for complex hip problems including femoroacetabular impingement (FAI) and hip dysplasia.

Dr. Mansour values and embraces the collaborative approach to sports medicine care at the Houston Shriners Hospital. He works closely with the dedicated physical therapists to formulate the most appropriate treatment plan for his patients. From backyard athlete to elite competitor, he is completely committed to the entire patient care process. He currently serves as a team physician for the NBA's Houston Rockets.
