Observation experiences and practicums for students

Observational experiences are limited to 20 hours and are available in our Specialty Care Clinic Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. All observers are required to submit the following: an observational request form that can be obtained by contacting Jenni Gibson (see contact information below), copy of immunization records, recent TB skin or blood test if available, copy of drivers license and student ID. An orientation packet will be provided once all required documentation is received by the staff development coordinator.

Thank you for your interest in pursuing an observational experience at the Lexington Shriners Medical Center. In order to provide patients and families the best care experience possible, as well as a valuable observational experience for students, we must limit the number of observers. Additionally, observation is restricted to no more than 20 hours.
