Mary Lloyd Ireland, M.D., is a pediatric orthopaedic surgeon at Shriners Hospitals for Children Medical Center — Lexington and associate professor of pediatric orthopaedics at the University of Kentucky. She is board certified by the National Board of Medical Examiners and the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery in orthopaedic surgery and orthopaedic sports medicine. She received an undergraduate degree from University of Memphis and earned a medical degree from University of Tennessee Health Science Center. Dr. Ireland completed her residency at University of California Medical Center and a fellowship in pediatric orthopaedic surgery and sports medicine at Boston Children's Hospital, Harvard Medical School and in orthopaedic surgery and sports medicine at Hughston Orthopaedic Clinic.

Areas of special interest to Dr. Ireland include all aspects of pediatric orthopaedics – specifically – injury prevention, shoulder and knee arthroscopy, and sports medicine.

Dr. Ireland is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American College of Sports Medicine, Arthroscopy Association of North America, Kentucky Orthopaedic Society and Orthopaedic Research Society.
