David R. Vandersteen, M.D.

David R. Vandersteen, M.D., is a pediatric urologist at Pediatric Surgical Associates, Ltd., and Shriners Hospitals for Children — Twin Cities. He is board certified by the American Board of Urology and Pediatric Urology, and fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He received an undergraduate degree from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota, and received a medical degree from Stanford University School of Medicine in Stanford, California. Dr. Vandersteen completed an internship and a residency in urology at Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland, Oregon. Dr. Vandersteen completed a fellowship in pediatric urology at Mayo Clinic. He has recently received the Mayo Clinic Humanitarian Award.

Areas of special interest to Dr. Vandersteen are pediatric urology, congenital anomalies of the genitourinary system, vesicoureteral reflux, testicular maldescent, pediatric urinary tract infections and neurology/urodynamics.

Dr. Vandersteen is a member of the International Society of Urologic Surgeons and is a reviewer for the Journal of Urology. He is also an assistant professor of pediatric urology at Mayo Graduate School of Medicine in Rochester, Minnesota, and is the director of extramural resident education at Mayo Clinic.
