Michael J. Priola, D.O.

Michael J. Priola, D.O.

Michael J. Priola, D.O., is a board-certified pediatric orthopaedic and sports medicine surgeon at Shriners Children's Twin Cities. After graduating from the University of California, Davis with a bachelor’s degree in genetics, he completed medical school at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Priola completed a traditional rotating internship followed by a residency in orthopaedic surgery at Western University/College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific, Riverside Regional Medical Center in Moreno, California. He completed a fellowship in pediatric orthopaedic surgery at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio.

After finishing his fellowship, Dr. Priola was stationed at Winn Army Community Hospital at Fort Stewart, Georgia, where he was the sole provider for pediatric orthopaedics. He served in the United States Army for four years with a seven month deployment to Afghanistan with a small Forward Surgical Team. While deployed, he provided emergency orthopaedic support to American, Italian, Spanish and Afghan army personnel, as well as Afghan civilians from surrounding villages. He was awarded the Army Commendation Medal for his role in Operation Enduring Freedom. Upon return, he served as the department chief of orthopedic surgery for one year.

He is proud to be a part of the Shriners Children's Twin Cities team, which is solely dedicated to the care of children with pediatric orthopaedic conditions.
