Chief of Staff talks individualized care for patients with cerebral palsy

Dr. Cary Mielke, Chief of Staff at Shriners Hospitals for Children — Twin Cities recently shared his insights into treatment of children with cerebral palsy. Dr. Mielke, talks about how patients with CP benefit from a more individualized orthotic management rather than a one-device-fits-all approach. 

In a story titled Fine-tuning orthotic device prescription, fitting in CP, Dr. Mielke explains how practitioners at Shriners Hospitals for Children take a multidisciplinary approach. Coordination of care may include an orthopedist, orthotist, and physical therapist. The story appeared in a recent issue of Lower Extremity Review: Pediatrics
