During this time of uncertainty with coronavirus (COVID-19), we are all navigating our way through a new normal. Michelle Jones, child life specialist at Shriners Healthcare for Children — Twin Cities, reminds us about the importance of play for all ages. As a child life specialist, Michelle often uses play as a tool to normalize the health care environment. By educating children in developmentally appropriate terms, child life specialists find that it provides kids with an opportunity for control in situations where they often feel powerless.
