Most general orthopaedists do not specialize in pediatric fracture and injury care, which is why we recommend all children see a pediatric orthopaedic expert. At Shriners Hospitals for Children — Twin Cities, we specialize in kids bones, joints and muscles, and understand the effects of injuries to growing bones and soft tissues. We are the experts on easing anxiety and move at a pace that is comfortable and reassuring for all members of the family.

Treatment of a child’s broken bones or sports injuries will be treated at Shriners Hospitals for Children – Twin Cities through reduction/re-alignment, surgery, casting, post-fracture follow-up care and rehabilitation services.

Shriners Hospitals for Children — Twin Cities does not have an emergency department. An appointment should be scheduled at the Twin Cities Shriners Hospital after fractures have been stabilized at an emergency room, urgent care facility or by your primary doctor.

Be sure to leave a message if you reach a voicemail. Calls will be returned within 20 minutes upon receipt to schedule the appointment same or next day. If your call is received after hours, a nurse will call between 8 a.m. - 8:30 a.m. the next business day.

We accept and bill private insurance and Medicaid, however, all care is provided regardless of the families’ ability to pay.

Rehabilitation for sports injuries

Therapy and rehabilitation are essential to pediatric sports medicine care at Shriners Hospitals for Children – Twin Cities. On-site physical and occupational therapists collaborate with patients and families to tailor patient-specific rehabilitation goals.
