The month of March is National Nutrition Month. To celebrate, the outpatient clinic at Shriners Hospitals for Children — Boston hosted a “Love to the rescue” healthy snack event. Patients in the clinic helped to decorate tables according to the theme. They were then provided with fruits including strawberries, blueberries and raspberries that could be put into yogurt and granola.
This fun activity taught patients and families the importance of fruit and dairy in a balanced diet. Clinicians shared the benefits of healthy snacking – especially the tasty treat of the featured yogurt parfaits. This event was a fun, educational learning experience in line with this year’s theme for National Nutrition Month: Put Your Best Fork Forward.
