The Marilyn Jenkins Memorial Nursing Excellence Award is a very special award that is based on professionalism, good communication, high quality nursing care and patient advocacy. All nurses who have completed one year of service are eligible to be nominated by one of their peers. The nominees are then judged on a scale of 1–5 by a panel of nurses from various nursing disciplines. Their scores are tallied and the highest score is our award recipient.
The winner of the Marilyn Jenkins Memorial Nursing Excellence Award for 2017 is Kelly Grenz.
Some quotes from Kelly's colleagues:
“I have seen Kelly in several stressful situations, but you wouldn’t know it by looking at her. She continuously maintains her composure. She develops and maintains an admirable rapport with both patients and families. She has an ability to communicate with all members of the team efficiently and will voice her opinion effectively as a patient advocate.”
“She always goes above and beyond for all of her patients. She is always an outstanding patient advocate who maintains great relationships with all of her families. Honestly she makes me strive to be a better and more compassionate nurse.”
