Shriners Hospitals for Children — Shreveport is pleased to announce that Sue Jue, R.N., B.S.N., C.P.N. has been selected as the hospital’s 2017 Nurse of the Year. Jue’s naming follows the nomination and selection by her nursing peers throughout the hospital.
Earning her B.S.N. from Northeast Louisiana University, Jue has served in multiple roles over nearly four decades of nursing service. In 2002 she joined the Shreveport Shriners Hospital as a member of the inpatient/EPACU staff. Her expertise and experience quickly established her as a ‘go-to’ presence on the unit for post-anesthesia and other challenging endeavors.
A board-certified pediatric nurse, Jue is active in nursing education within the Shreveport Shriners Hospital. She serves as BLS and PALS instructor, precepts new inpatient unit nursing staff, and assists with other unit departmental training and education.
Jue is described by her coworkers as creative, friendly and witty. She enthusiastically participates in patient events and activities, and can always be counted on for an ingenious and convincing Halloween costume. She is also an excellent cook and has been known to treat fellow coworkers to samples of her culinary creations.
