Shriners Hospitals for Children — St. Louis named Ansar Shriner Alex B. Rabin as its chairman of the board beginning January 2017. This is the first time in Ansar Shrine’s history that one of its nobles received this honor. Noble Rabin served as treasurer of the Board of Governors for two years, then as vice chairman for two more years. Mr. Rabin is scheduled to serve as chairman of the Board of Governors through December 2018.

Alex Rabin was raised a Master Mason in October 2004. He served as chairman of the Ansar Shrine golf outing for three years. He is a member of the Arab Patrol and director’s staff. Mr. Rabin is a Past Master of Chatham Central Lodge 523. He has served on the committees for finance, strategic planning, performance improvement, budget and finance, applications, telemedicine and board nominations at the hospital. He now serves as chairman of the joint conference committee and executive committee for the hospital.
Alex Rabin graduated with his Bachelor of Science degree in biology from the University of Illinois at Springfield in 1998. He graduated from Valparaiso University School of Law in 2003. Alex is a partner at the law firm of Sgro, Hanrahan, Durr, Rabin, & Bruce LLP in Springfield, Illinois. He is married to Emily and they have two children; Jacob (10) and Reese (7). His father Mark Rabin, twin brother Robert Rabin and brother-in-law John Isaacs are all Ansar Shriners. His grandfather Harold Saul Rabin (deceased) was a member of the Medinah Shrine.
