Tahuti Court No. 44 transforms Tampa Shriners Hospital into a putting green

Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America hosts sixth annual Putting for a Purpose fundraiser

Thanks to the dedication of their ladies and volunteers, Tahuti Court No. 44 of the Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America (LOSNA) hosted another successful event to help support our hospital; the sixth annual Putting for a Purpose fundraiser.

Once a year, these lovely ladies come over from St. Petersburg to turn Shriners Hospitals for Children — Tampa into an 18-hole mini-golf course. Golfers are able to enjoy the event no matter what the weather, as the course is setup inside the climate-controlled hospital. So despite the misty weather the Tampa area experienced on June 4, event participants stayed dry while navigating our hallways and raising money for our mission.

Although the final totals for this year's fundraiser have not yet been announced, the ladies of Tahuti Court No. 44 are confident their efforts "brought in the bucks." That is because this year's event not only had a record number of registered golfers, but also the most sponsors it has had since the event's inception.

Thanks to all those who came out and played for our kids. And, another big thank you to Ruth Szemer, Carol Sue Roberts, the ladies of LOSNA Tahuti Court No. 44 and all the hardworking volunteers who helped bring this event to fruition. We can't wait until next year!
