Congratulations to our DAISY Award Honoree, Alma Reyes, RN

Congratulations to our DAISY Award Honoree, Alma Reyes, RN

We recently celebrated National Nurses Week at Shriners for Children Medical Center in Pasadena. During the end of the week’s celebration, we hosted a DAISY Day ceremony to recognize all of our nurses who were nominated for the DAISY Award. The DAISY Award is an international program designed to say THANK YOU to nurses for their incredible clinical skill and compassion.

Every participating facility can nominate one nurse for the DAISY Award. Once nominations are received, the leadership team decides who will be the DAISY Award Honoree based on submissions received from members of the medical center team. Nominees for this award included Kevin, manager of the ambulatory surgery center (ASC), Sophia, a nurse in the ASC, Carman, a nurse in our primary care clinic, and LaToya, a nurse in the ASC. All nominees are exceptional nurses, but one nurse received the most accolades and nominations: Alma Reyes, RN, care manager in our primary care clinic.

Alma was our proud recipient of this year’s 2019 DAISY Award. Alma received glowing recommendations from the medical staff and other colleagues that work with her throughout the medical center. During the ceremony, Alma gave a beautiful, touching acceptance speech that was filled with emotion. The speech was an excellent representation of the beautiful heart that Alma has. Shriners for Children Medical Center is fortunate to have Alma as part of the care management team. At Shriners for Children Medical Center, our nurses are all sensational and care deeply about others. They truly make the heart and soul of this medical center. An enormous thank you to all of our beautiful nurses, and a very special congratulations to Alma for being our DAISY Award Honoree!
