Jesse Little, NASCAR driver, visits Shriners for Children Medical Center in Pasadena

Before Jesse Little did any laps around the track at the Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California, there were some off-track activities that he was looking forward to.

Thursday afternoon, Jesse visited with the patients and staff at Shriners for Children Medical Center, where Jesse toured the facilities, signed autographs and spent time with Shriners for Children Medical Center Patient Ambassador Sebastian. Sebastian showed Jesse around the new facility, taking him through the clinic, rehabilitation center and prosthetic and orthotics department, and even posed to take a selfie in the EOS X-ray machine. At the end of the tour, patients, families and staff members lined up for photos with Jesse. The patients were excited to see him in his racing gear. Jesse held a casual Q & A session with the patients and received many interesting questions. One patient asked if NASCAR drivers get hot in their suit. Jesse responded, “Yes, we lose about six pounds a race.”

“The Shriners for Children Medical Center in Pasadena visit was very special to me. It was so amazing to see the joy and happiness that those kids showed when getting to talk with them. Something I will not ever forget and something I cannot wait to do again," said Jesse. "The staff and the facility were top notch on top of that. I’m blessed to have been able to be a small part of those kids’ day.”

Sebastian and his family joined Jesse and his JD Motorsports team as honorary crewmembers and guests for the race weekend. Jesse was in California to participate in the NASCAR Xfinity Series Race at the Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California. On race day, Jesse and the JD Motorsports team completed the race, avoiding the on-track incidents and finishing 28th.
