Rose Parade 2018 - Caring for Kids Around the World

Rose Parade 2018 - Caring for Kids Around the World

Shriners Hospitals for Children was a proud and award-winning participant of this year’s 129th Tournament of Roses Parade. Shriners Hospital was awarded the Tournament Volunteer Award for Most Outstanding Floral Presentation of the Rose Parade Theme among floats 35 feet and under in length.

The theme of the parade was Making a Difference. Shriners Hospitals for Children is making a difference through its patient-centered, compassionate approach to medical care. Our patients often discover a new sense of hope and confidence, and return home able and determined to be active participants in their homes, schools and communities, and to live their dreams.

This was Shriners Hospitals for Children eighth consecutive year participating in the parade. Commander Fezzy, in his sixth appearance on the Shriners Hospitals for Children float, was joined by Imperial Potentate Gary Bergenske and his wife Anne, Trustee Peter Diaz and his wife Vicky, along with four patient ambassadors: Alec, Emily, Isabella and Kechi.

This representation also celebrates the opening of our new outpatient facility, Shriners for Children Medical Center, in the heart of Pasadena. The new medical center is an outstanding pediatric specialty, patient-centered facility that will serve the children and families of the greater San Gabriel Valley and the Southwest region of the U.S., as well as Northern Mexico.
