MAC seeking healthy individuals to participate in research study

Experience Hollywood magic in motion analysis center and be a part of orthopaedic research.

Calling all patient families and siblings!

We are recruiting individuals ages 6–21 to participate in a study focusing on the change in normative trunk motion with age. Eligible participants must be healthy individuals who are able to follow simple instructions and have no known orthopaedic conditions, which may impair trunk motion.

This study uses 3-D motion capture technology, which is also used in the production of video games and animated movies, to analyze movement. During data collection, the subject will perform 12 movements while being tracked by the motion capture system. At the same time, Electromyography (EMG) sensors, placed on the participant's trunk will track muscle activation during the movement.

All data collection will take place in the motion analysis center at Shriners Hospitals for Children — Philadelphia. Free on-site parking is available. The anticipated duration of the study is approximately one hour. Service hours for participation can be approved upon request. Participants who wish to come as a group can be accommodated.

The study is ongoing through February 2018.
