Northern California Shriners Hospital ranks as one of 50 Best Hospitals for Pediatric Orthopedics

U.S. News & World Report 2018-2019 Best Children’s Hospital National Rankings

For the seventh consecutive year, Shriners Hospitals for Children — Northern California ranks among the nation’s elite providers of pediatric orthopaedic care, achieving the status, in conjunction with UC Davis Children’s Hospital, of one of the top 50 Best Hospitals for Pediatric Orthopedics in the U.S. News & World Report 2018-2019 Best Children’s Hospital National Rankings.

Annually, U.S. News & World Report highlights the top pediatric facilities in 10 specialties. Rankings are based on a combination of clinical data and reputation with pediatric specialists. The Northern California Shriners Hospital consistently ranks as a leader in pediatric orthopaedic care in conjunction with UC Davis Children’s Hospital.

“We are proud to be recognized among our peers for the exceptional care provided by our medical team. The ranking is a reflection of the quality and complexity of care we provide children as well as the growth and volume of our program,” said Margaret Bryan, administrator and CEO at Shriners Hospitals for Children — Northern California.

“While the ranking is a source of great pride, we are motivated each day by our ability to positively impact the lives of children who can benefit from our care,” she adds.

Among the thousands of children treated by the orthopaedic team each year are children with scoliosis; limb deficiencies; sports injuries; hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder malformations; brachial plexus birth palsy; spinal cord injury; spina bifida and cerebral palsy. The hospital also is engaged in clinical trials and scientific research to advance orthopaedic care.

U.S. News & World Report introduced the Best Children’s Hospitals rankings in 2007 to help families of sick children find the best medical care available. The rankings open the door to an array of detailed information about each hospital’s performance.

The pediatric rankings are posted online and will be published in the U.S. News & World Report Best Hospitals 2019 Guidebook later this year.

The full rankings and methodology are available online.
