Board of Governors spotlight, Bob McKenzie

Bob McKenzie has served on the Board of Governors of Shriners Hospitals for Children — Salt Lake City for six years. He became aware of our hospital when he rode his mini-bike to parades as a member of the El Kalah Mini-Bikes unit, “Riding for Our Kids.”  Various people at the parades would come up and praise our hospital and the level of care provided.

His favorite thing about being on the Board is serving on the Plant and Facilities Committee and working with people behind the scenes who make our hospital great.

Bob served as the Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Utah in 2003 and participated in the dedication of our hospital in 1995 as an officer of the Grand Lodge.  He and his wife, Dianne, have been married for 59 years, have three daughters and five grandchildren. They recently added a new member to the family, a great-grandson, Oliver.

Bob is an active member of the Bountiful Lions Club and the Bountiful Community Church. He retired after 30 years of service from Hill Air Force Base as the chief facilities engineer. As a college student, Bob played the saxophone in dance bands.

His hobbies include walking and watching sports. Thank you, Bob, for signing hospital checks and “riding for our kids.”  Beep! Beep!
