Doel is the founder and past C.E.O. of Jade Transportation Services in Perth, Ontario, and has been in the transportation management industry for more than 30 years. Now retired from business, he consults within the radioactive transportation industry.

Doel and his wife, Lyn, have been married for more than 35 years. They have one daughter, Kimberlee.
