Noted plastic surgeon to speak at Shriners Hospital

Rajiv Sood, M.D., F.A.C.S., a nationally noted plastic surgeon recognized for his research and clinical experience with emerging technologies for skin replacement, will speak at Shriners Hospitals for Children — Northern California on Monday, December 4.  Advancements in Burn Reconstruction is the title of the presentation, which is part of the hospital's Signature Series continuing education program for medical professionals.

Dr. Sood is chief of plastic surgery at Indiana University School of Medicine and medical director at the Richard M. Fairbanks Burn Center and the Burn Center at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis. He has presented over 100 papers nationally and internationally and won numerous awards for his research interests.  He is an editor and co-author of the book Burn Reconstruction and Rehabilitation

Physicians and medical professionals from the community are invited to attend. Dr. Sood will greet guests at a reception beginning at 5:30 p.m. The lecture will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the hospital boardroom. David Greenhalgh, M.D., chief of burns at the Northern California Shriners Hospital, and Plastic Surgeon Pirko Maguina, M.D., will welcome Dr. Sood and guests to the Signature Series dinner lecture.
